This 80 page photocopiable book is a follow-up to Rachel Goodchild's best selling alphabet series, 'Alligators to Zebras'. It is aimed at those children in the first two years of school who already have confidence with initial sounds. The book focuses on 25 common consonant blends. Each of the blends is accompanied by a creative activity and two fun reading activities designed to consolidate blend recognition and use, and to extend children's knowledge in a stimulating way. Activities are hands-on, and will support children with different learning styles to absorb the look and sound of each blend, plus assist with fine motor skills development like cutting, pasting, folding and colouring. Each activity leads to a finished product that gives children a sense of completion and achievement, and will aid further discussion about the featured blend.
